The number one seed was two sets to love behind against Colombian Alejandro Falla before battling back in his opening match on Monday, and then also struggled to overcome gallant Serbian Ilija Bozoljac in four sets in the second round. But for Swiss superstar Federer those results hardly matter now, and when he takes to the court later to face Frances Arnaud Clement he will be focused simply on putting away another opponent. "I think the first two matches have been tough. My opponents, I think they did play very well," Federer said. "Im excited that Im still in the tournament. Im looking forward to my third round, regardless how I got there." Federer had lunch with the Queen, and the monarch also met Andy Roddick, last years runner-up. Roddick will play his third-round match today, and his opponent, Germanys Philipp Kohlschreiber, is unlikely to be a pushover on Court One. They have met three times previously, with Roddick winning the first two but Kohlschreiber was victorious in their most recent clash, in 2008. Roddick was extended to a fourth set by Michael Llodra in the second round on Wednesday, but yesterday Rafael Nadal was taken to a fifth on Centre Court as he came from two sets to one down to see off the spirited challenge of world number 151 Robin Haase. The 23-year-old Dutchman stunned 2008 champion Nadal, who was stung into action and got back to his aggressive best to win 5-7 6-2 3-6 6-0 6-3. The Spaniard said: "I knew it was going to be a dangerous match. On fast surfaces like grass all the matches are close and he has one of the strongest serves. "Playing against him was a challenge and I was happy to win." Andy Murray had a straightforward progression to the third round, beating Finn Jarkko Nieminen in straight sets in front of the Queen. The Scot continued his impressive start to his Wimbledon campaign by winning 6-3 6-4 6-2 and will play Gilles Simon of France next. Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga recorded a dramatic five-set victory over Alexandr Dolgopolov, the 10th seed coming through 6-4 6-4 5-7 5-7 10-8. And sixth seed Robin Soderling continued his fine start to the competition with another straight-sets victory. The French Open finalist beat Spains Marcel Granollers 7-5 6-1 6-4.
